The community was named after statesman and orator Daniel Webster and follows the motto, “Where Life is Worth Living.” It consists of seven smaller communities, including Avalon Estates, Glen Edith, and Union Hill.  Public schools in the town are run by the Webster Central School District, and older students will attend classes at either Webster Shroeder High School or Webster Thomas High School. Recently, this community was named by Sports Illustratedas the “Number 1 Sportstown in New York” due to the success of area high schools in athletics.

There are numerous attractions located in Webster. There are several historical sites located here, including the Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse, which was built in 1822. The Whiting Road Nature Preserve offers multi-use trails so that visitors can take advantage of 240 acres of birds, plants, and wildlife. Webster lies within a humid continental climate zone. It is known for having four distinct seasons that bring in a variety of unique weather conditions throughout the year. The winters are snowy and cold, and temperatures drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit several nights per year. Heavy snowfall is also common in Webster, and when snow storms push into the area, travel can become hazardous. Residents will need to have a home heating system in place to keep them safe when winter weather keeps them homebound.

The spring and autumn seasons in Webster are mild, and the summer is typically comfortable with high humidity. During July, average high temperatures only reach the low 80s. There are several days throughout the season in which the thermostat will reach 90 degrees or higher, and when these uncomfortable conditions set in, residents will be thankful to have invested in a reliable air conditioning system for their homes.
